Public Testing – Ice Citadel + Adv Nest

Development Update

In the hollow silence of centuries, Esben’s mind, frayed by cold and memory, reached beyond the veil. From whispers once carried by Hugin and Munin, he spun thought into flesh, giving birth to spectral sons with blood of myth and bone of shadow. Fenrir, the wolf-child, bore rage sharp as glacier-cracked steel, while Jörmungandr, the serpent son, coiled endlessly through the deep, gnawing at the roots of time. A great bear, nameless yet knowing, lumbered through Esben’s dreams, protector and prisoner alike. These were not children born of love, but of need—of silence too loud, and madness too still. In the frozen dark, Esben’s family grew, each a fragment of old gods reimagined, stitched together with sorrow, runes, and the last warmth of a dying soul.

Lonely Realmers!

We’re back at it again with another Ice Citadel PT. This time you will be able to progress through about 2/3s of his planned fight as well as fight against Esben’s conjuration of a family. Portals will spawn at the top center of the nexus every 30 seconds. Please remember to leave your feedback in the #testing-feedback channel as we look to bring this dungeon closer and closer to prod ready! Additionally you will be able to find one of the new UT items in the shop created by Tester and UGC connoisseur in CaptainDagaz.

But that’s not all that’s on this PT, additionally spawning at the top of the nexus you will find portals to the Advanced Nest that has received significant changes to improve playability and excitement. The normal nest also has also inherited a few of these changes. 

Nest & Advanced Nest changes

-Both versions now have slightly wider hallways and some rooms have been expanded to account for these hallways making them a little bit less claustrophobic. 

-A few experimental new rooms have been added, these rooms have more open space to play in than normal nest rooms.

-The Beekeeper’s third phase has now been reworked and should feel far more interactable than the current version.

-The Beekeeper now has 60k HP, up from 45k.

-The inner tiles in the Killer bee queen boss room should finally no longer slow.

-The teleport to boss system has changed so you should no longer get teleported if you are already in the boss room, or if you are in the beekeeper’s room.

-Maggots go vulnerable slightly earlier, allowing them to be killed during their first charge.

Advanced Nest only changes

-The 30% damage increase has been removed and replaced with a 50% healing reduction. This should result in less immediate danger but still increase the difficulty of the dungeon making it more about consistent execution than quick deaths.

-The health multiplier for enemies in the dungeon has been reduced from 2x to 1.6x

-The beekeeper has a few small attack changes to its fight in the advanced dungeon.

-Large green bees now have fixed grenades and should no longer throw grenades belonging to the other colored bees.

-All sick durations in the dungeon have been reduced.

-Hives in the dungeon should no longer be able to get stuck invulnerable when a green bee approaches them.

-Some of the attacks in the Advanced Killer Bee Queen fight have been adjusted to give players increased dodging tolerance.
