It’s with gratitude, sadness, and wishing all the best to both of them, that we publish these two letters to the community from Toastrz and Kiddforce.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hi all,<\/p>

I wanted to let you all know that I’ll be leaving DECA Games as of today. The past few years both in UGC and as a formal game designer have been an incredible, crazy, and fun experience that I wouldn’t trade for the world. I’m saddened to be leaving, but I decided the time has come for me to take the next step in my personal life.<\/p>

Realm is a deeply special game to me, as I know it is to many of you. The opportunity I’ve been afforded to contribute to a game I’ve known for just about a decade now is a chance I’m extremely grateful to DECA for. Through the all highs and lows, the comments, the lore, the memes, the Honey Scepters, and every moment I’ve spent in the community with you guys, I treasure it all wholeheartedly. I’m looking forward to spending more time with this passionate community, and to any of you lore enthusiasts out there, keep your eyes peeled for one last surprise. \ud83d\ude09<\/p>

I wish nothing but the best to all my colleagues, as Realm too continues toward its next steps. I’ve been lucky enough to work alongside some inspiringly talented people, from testers, artists, UGC people, the awesome guys within DECA itself, and most of all the design team. I couldn’t be more proud or humbled by what we’ve been able to accomplish in this time.<\/p>

Hello everyone,<\/p>

Like Toastrz, I will also be leaving DECA Games as of today. Working on Realm of the Mad God both as UGC and as an official designer was an opportunity that I will cherish for the rest of my life and I want to thank DECA for it. After almost 10 years of playing, 5 years of creating content it’s time for me to close this book and open the next one.<\/p>

I still remember back in 2012 when I was browsing Steam for a free game to play to pass the time and finding RotMG. I would have never imagined the impact this game would have on my life. It’s an odd game that like many of you I enjoy despite its many flaws. It’s the game’s potential that has kept me around for so long in the hope it would become a game as great as it deserves. While I’ve rarely been at the forefront of the community know that I’ve always been watching closely. Awed by the incredible fanart, laughing at the ridiculous memes, enchanted by the great ideas. You guys are an extremely passionate community of a decade old game and I hope you stay that way!<\/p>

Finally I wanted to thank those who kept me going throughout the years, first my guild and friends I’ve met throughout the years I would not have been playing this long without you. Thanks to the testers for your pertinent feedback and support as well as the fun times we had when I was still one of you! Thanks to the artists for helping us bring ideas to life, exceeding my expectations at every corner. Thanks to the XML guys that I’ve had the pleasure to work with and assist, always surprising me with new tricks. Thanks to the team and in particular the Design team for the awesome past few years.
And thank you the community, for playing the game. It’s your excitement, joy and passion that made the hard work worth it.<\/p>

I will now be observing the future of the game from afar and wish the best to the whole Realm team.<\/p>
