The Closed Testers & User Generated Content program, or CT\/UGC program, is a curated group with early access to the private testing servers with new features before they have been released. They are part of a private community of players and developers that help forge the next stage of the game.

User Generated Content<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

User Generated Content members, or UGC members, would log into their own private testing server that allows them to load and build their own content. As a UGC member, you would:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  • Learn pixel art spriting, level design, and the XML design language<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Iteratively build projects through an auto-updating server process<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Collaborate with other UGC members through feedback and shared projects<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Create new content that gets showcased in the game<\/li>\n\n\n\n

    How to Apply<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    We pride ourselves on the CT\/UGC team being the best-of-the-best of the community. This is an environment that respects the dignity and contributions of all individuals, regardless of aspects including but not limited to race, age, gender, disability, physical characteristics, or socio-economic position. You’ll need to be in good standing with the game’s Terms of Service, as well as its official communities. CT\/UGC members engage respectfully and kindly with their community, making the game a better place for everyone. At the same time, they need to exercise discretion as they are privy to a large amount of information that cannot be shared with players. Since operations are conducted in English, we require our members to be able to communicate in English, including in their application.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    To get into the program, you will need to have a Reddit and a Discord account, and join the official RotMG subreddit as well as the official RotMG Discord. If you haven’t participated much in the community, it’s optional but very recommended to spend some time socializing with fellow community members! You will also likely want to participate in leaving public feedback or bug reports on any of the game’s Public Testing sessions, as this is one of our best measures for judging the feedback quality of potential applicants. An active community member is far more likely to break through the wave of applications!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Please remember that applications are not always open. We will announce a specific time period when we will be accepting applicants, and only consider applications that were submitted at that time. If this is not your first time applying, we recommend saving your application responses for the next wave. Please take each question carefully and write a response to each prompt, even if you do not have a strong response to the question.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
